final year work
The final year studio work was split into 2 modules, design exploration and design resolution. The sequence explores the movement on the site using film as a medium of study. Using rules and film theory, I broke the movement down to create fields of information that would begin my resolution. The sequel resolves this information to form a response to the social issues that ex-convicts face in their rehabilitation.

The Hideout
The Hideout, a contemporary treehouse designed to provide a fun yet educational play structure. Its main functions include a slide, a climbing net, a blackboard and a small crawling space. It focuses on a child’s journey through the space and how it will benefit their different learning types, including visual, physical and logical. It’s a simple timber structure with plywood internal faces and timber batons to create a jagged facade that children can hide behind.
